No one can dispute the fact that Michael Jackson was enormously talented and contributed many great songs, albums, videos, etc. to our pop culture. He made an incredible impact on American music, absolutely.
But I find it sickening that for the last 15 or so years Jackson dissolved into a freak show, drastically altering his appearance with plastic surgery and using his fame and enormous wealth to gain access to children to sexual molest and, legally, get away with.
Then, in the final few years of his life, he abused drugs (yes, prescription drugs are still drugs like cocaine and heroine if used for non-medical purposes like Jackson did) to the point where he killed himself. Technically, it wasn’t suicide…but there is more than one way to kill your self.
Yet, when he died and much of the entertainment world came out to mourn (including his family), nobody asked why Jackson died. Nobody said, “Hey, Michael was only 50 years old. Why did he die? He didn’t have cancer or any other terminal disease. Where were his friends and family to help him? Why didn’t anybody step up and try to help the obvious psychologically troubled man?”
I find the whole memorial service and gross media coverag of Jackson's death disgusting. What a bunch of pigs to turn his death/suicide into a tribute to a deeply disturbed person. What a joke.
