A few weeks ago the people at Kraft were kind enough to give me 10 coupons for free cream cheese. Since I always pledged that I would gift away 1/2 of any donations to the site, I had to figure out something to do with 5 cream cheeses.
Thank you to everyone who donated to our Walking Marathon for the American Cancer Society. We were able to raise $434 for cancer research.

In addition, an excerpt from my thank you letter to the English as a Second Language class in Somerville, MA was quoted in the June 2009 Newsletter of the Community Action Agency of Somerville.

With his surprising early success in 2009, the 37-year old Raul Ibanez has an early eye on the NL MVP Trophy. But his success has many fans wondering if he might be next on the long list of baseball's recent cheaters.
Update: We did not have a guest writer this past week. We did receive two interesting responses this week. One response was from the site's original letter to an "English as a Second Language" class I attended. The other is a response from the Boston Red Sox from the letter I sent to Bud Selig and Donald Fehr on my waning interest in baseball.
6/4/09 - Letter #17 - "What Have I Gotten Us Into?"
Last week, I announced that I was going to walk the equivalent of a marathon and raise money for the American Cancer Society with my buddy Dalvin. This week I am wondering if I will actually be able to complete it.

5/28/09 - Letter #16 - Anyone For a Marathon?
After a little over 3 months of letters on the site, I decided it was about time to do something a little out of the ordinary. So I called my friend Dalvin and asked if he wanted to walk a marathon - since I know I can't run one. To my disappointment, he said "Yes". So to make it worthwhile, we're raising money for the American Cancer Society.
Update: Unfortunately, we did not have a guest-writer for this week. We received a response from our letter to the Philly Cream Cheese People and a number of responses to our Thank You Letter to BIDMC.
5/22/09 - Letter #15 - "I Love Cream Cheese"
This morning when I realized I had run out of cream cheese, I had made a revelation... cream cheese has become my favorite food!
